Down and out US Presidential nominee Senator Hillary Clinton received an endorsement from what she would consider the unlikeliest source, former White House intern Monica Lewinsky. The former White House intern said in a press interview yesterday that she believes that Hillary Clinton would be her “most favouritest” choice to be US President because. Lewinsky said that she knows the family at a very personal level and she believes that Hillary has the same principles and foresight that made her Bill Clinton one of the most adored US Presidents in the world.

“I know Bill and I know what made him special,” Lewinsky said, “and I know that Hillary has the same charm and strength and resilience that he does.” Lewinsky said that she did not expect anything on a personal level if Hillary was to be elected. “I am not looking for personal gain or any of the perks that I had when Bill was president,” she said, “all I want is for the American public to be happy the way I was and the only way that will happen is if they elect Hillary as their next president.” With Barack Obama almost certainly tipped to be the Presidential nominee, it would be interesting to see just how far Lewinsky support will push Clinton. “I think Barack’s a great person and I would love to know him the way I did Bill,” Lewinsky added, “but the fact remains that I know Bill and I know that Hillary can be exactly like Bill and that Barack would never be able to do that.”

Talk show host Steven Colbert who interviewed Monica Lewinsky believes that this was exactly the kind of shakeup that the Democratic race needed. “Obama is getting complacent with his oh I’m so cool and oh I don’t need my church and my pastor but at some point he is going to realise that he needs someone like Lewinsky,” Colbert said, “Lewinsky’s testimony will definitely have far reaching effects on the Clinton campaign and I hope the two of them finally see eye to eye on some very intriguing personal issues.” With the US elections still a good six months away but with the nominations only weeks away, the American public will have to hold their breath to find out whether Lewinsky will actually manage to blow away Obama with her testimony.
